Well, one of them, anyway.
Back story: When I was a wee child, my sister and I stayed with our grandparents when school was closed for snow. On those days, Big Sis (who was super cool, even at 10 years old) always had a Beatles movie to entertain us until Mom picked us up after work. I think I had Help! memorized before I could fully tie my shoes.
Fast forward 20 years. I'm fresh off my first (and only) year as a teacher, and in a very bad place personally. I won't go into details here, but I will say that the few words that always got me through the difficult stuff were simply, "Let it be." I genuinely have no idea how I could have gotten through that time without that song, and its lyrics have become my personal motto. I even had those three simple words tattooed on my skin as a constant reminder that there will be an answer.
Big Sis found out in April that Sir Paul himself would be performing in Nashville, a short five-ish hours from where we live. Our mom's birthday is in May, so we decided that Macca tickets would make a fine birthday present indeed.
After accidentally blocking my entire campus from Ticketmaster for a few hours, Big Sis procured four tickets, and we were tasked with keeping the secret until Mom's birthday.
Yes, it says June 25. Paul fell ill in June, which forced him to reschedule some shows, including ours. He definitely made it worth the wait, though.
I've literally waited my entire life for this show, and now that I've seen it, I don't think anything will top it. He played EVERYTHING. Seriously. Everything.
Highlights include, but certainly are not limited to:
Magical Mystery Tour
All My Loving
Paperback Writer--played on the guitar he used to record it.
Another Day
Eleanor Rigby--my first Favorite Beatles Song
Let It Be--yes, I cried. A lot.
Live and Let Die--WITH FIREWORKS AND EXPLOSIONS. 007 would have been proud.
Hey Jude
Yesterday
Helter Skelter--or, as I shouted when he started it, "HELTER MOTHERF****** SKELTER!!!"
Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight / The End
I seriously can't describe how good this show was. If I live 100 more years, I don't think I'll ever see anything to top it. Unless I see him again.

I've made a huge mistake...
Hi there, Blogland.
I dropped the ball. In all the excitement of our first blog post, I forgot to mention someone very important. He's the face of Sleepyhead, and he's not too thrilled with me right now. I'm hoping that an entire post dedicated to him will help rectify the situation.
Meet Oliver. Oliver is our resident SleepyOwl, and he oversees all Sleepyhead productions. We really couldn't function without him.
Oliver came to us when we were in the early stages of planning Sleepyhead, and he needed a good meal and a warm bed.
Unlike most owls, Oliver is not nocturnal. He loves being outside in the sun, and can't wait to play in the leaves.
In addition to my posts and Tanna's, we'll be posting updates from Oliver every Wednesday in a segment we're calling Oliver's Adventures. Be sure to check back in to find out what he's up to!
I made Oliver using the pattern from Jacquie over at BunnyMummy. You can find her fantastic pattern here.
I'm off to Nashville for the next couple of days to fulfill a childhood dream, but more on that later.

HoWdY!
Hey y'all! I'm Tanna, history teacher, wife, and mother of an almost-six month old ,"L". (HOLY COW! She's almost six months?!? Time FLIES!) My hubby and "L" are my life- teaching is my passion. I am not nearly as crafty as Em, but I'd like to be! I can knit (somewhat awkwardly), I can cross stitch (LOVE), and I'm slowly learning to crochet (did I emphasize slowly??). Yes, we're planning on selling crocheted items, but right now I'm about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. I'll get there! ;)
I've always loved crafting of all types and I'm super excited to start this blog/business with one of my best friends (she really is the definition of awesome, just check out the dictionary- you'll see her face ;) Ha!).
Stay tuned for more from Em and me, and thanks for stopping by, y'all! :)

Is this thing on?
Hi there, Blogosphere.
Thanks for visiting us here at Sleepyhead Designs, your one-stop-shop for anything crochet.
We have some exciting developments coming up soon. We'll announce those here in the coming weeks, so keep checking back!
While we're busy organizing and setting everything up, I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself.
I'm Emily (or Em, really). I live in a tiny town in the mountains of Virginia, and I'm Mom to one of the coolest hounds in the world, Pip. I work in the IT department of a small liberal arts college, which makes me a certified nerd, and gives me the chance to live out the plot of The I.T. Crowd. In my free time, I write, drink copious amounts of coffee, watch hockey (Go Leafs Go!), and, of course, knit & crochet. I'm fascinated by great literature, superhero movies, and music.
Of course, in the next few weeks I'll be popping in often to tell you about all of the great things we have going on at Sleepyhead, and to share some of our misadventures. Tanna will also be checking in to introduce herself, so keep an eye out!
